SCANDINAVIAN CULTURE

AN INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY FOR ALL WHO LOVE

Viking Feast
ABOUT OUR CLUB

The club meets on the first Tuesday of every month (except July and August) to socialize, enjoy a traditional Norwegian meal of torsk (codfish) and Linie aquavit, and listen to an interesting guest speaker.  Everyone is welcome!

Viking Verner
OUR HISTORY IN EDMONTON

Founded in 1970 as a Norwegian men's club, Torskeklubben has evolved and now welcomes men and women of all backgrounds.  You don't have to be Norwegian or even Scandinavian, but you should at least like fish and Linie aquavit.

Hands
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Charitable gaming proceeds from managing biennial casino events allows Torskeklubben to promote awareness of Scandianvian herritage, support education in Scandinavian languages and culture, and to help local charitable organizations in the Edmonton community.

Dec 03, 2024, 6:00 p.m.
Chateau Nova Yellowhead
Join us for a traditional meal of Cod (Torsk) and a few glasses of aquavit. It is December, so we'll also have Swedish meatballs and dessert. Don't miss it. Charles World, President and Chief of Loppet of the Canadian Birkebeiner Society, will join us to talk about the Birke 40th Anniversary.

"The reason I have taken an interest in things Norwegian and Scandinavian generally, is that I believe each culture on this globe can contribute some of its best traits to make Canadian culture one of the richest in the world."

Founder, Edmonton Torskeklubben
