Please join us for a traditional meal of Cod (Torsk) and a few glasses of aquavit.
Edward van Vliet, Facility Supervisor for Stephansson House will join us to present: "Much Ado about Stephan". Stephan G. Stephansson – Poet of the Rocky Mountains – was born in Iceland in 1853. In 1889, he brought his family to Alberta near what is now the Markerville area. He homesteaded there with his family, farming by day and writing by night. Stephansson is considered one of the greatest poets in the western world and his home is a Provincial Historic Site available to the public to visit from the May long weekend through Labour Day.
